Are you planning a trip to Japan soon? Then I’m already jealous, what an experience! If you ask me what I like the most about Japan, I can’t really answer that. Japan certainly stole my heart. Here I have listed some tips before you go to Japan.
Buy a JR pass if you stay longer than one week and planning a road trip around Japan.
Requirements to get a JR pass
You will not staying longer than 90 days in Japan
You’re a tourist
JR pass is valid on all JR trains across Japan.
( shinkansen, express, local, excluding the shinkansen Nozomi & Mizuho )
JR is valid on the Tokyo Monorail, specific Aoimori Railways traind and local JR buses.
JR pass is valid on the JR Miyajima Ferry.

2.Receive the exchange order
3.Activate the JR Pass, when you arriving in Japan!

If you are only staying in Tokyo, I recommend you a suica card.
The Suica is a prepaid e-money card for moving around and shopping. There is no more need to buy a ticket from a vending machine. Just touch your Suica to the ticket gate and the fare is automatically deducted from your Suica. The Suica can be used not only for JR East trains, but subways and buses as well.
Rent a pocket-wifi
Renting a Pocket Wifi is ideal if you enjoy unlimited access to fast internet during your trip.
The minimum rental period is 5 days.
